Built 1528 as a place of assembly for the canons, also accommodating the Cathedral School and the Cathedral Construction Authorities. Converted 1830-32, with new floors added by Johann Friedrich Huber (1767-1832) for the Allgemeine Lesegesellschaft (General Reading Society) which was founded in 1787.
