Built 1856-59 by Johann Jakob Stehlin the Younger (1826-94). Extended 1895-96 by Heinrich Reese (1842-1919). The site had been used since the late 18th century as the offices of the clerks of the court, since 1807/1808 as a courthouse. Renovation, conversion and restoration 1988-1991.
