The Martinsturm was wholly rebuilt only at the end of the 15th century by Hans von Nussdorf. The architect based his design loosely on the form of the Georgsturm, but incorporated other details.
This tower too is named after the equestrian statue at its base, which shows Saint Martin in the act of sharing his cloak.
