Created in 1421 by joining two houses together, the older Wine Guild (right, since 1233), and "zum Ystein". Between 1562 and 1578 alterations and addition of a new façade attributed to the architect Daniel Heintz (documented 1559-96).
Is considered one of the most important Renaissance buildings in Switzerland.
