Built during the second half of the 13th century as part of Kleinbasel's fortified city wall. Magazine and Carthusian corner tower on the right. Around 1444, addition of a walk along the battlements, which was originally higher and topped in tin. The more recent, outer fortified wall was demolished in 1857.
