In the courtyard of the Museum tombstones from the 13th and 14th centuries give evidence of the local Jewish community during the Middle Ages. A collection of Judaica draws attention to the Jewish customs and cemonies. Important silver objects from famous goldsmith-centres represent highlights and are standing next to simple artifacts of brass, tin, wood, and pewter and richly embroidered textiles from rural surroundings. Valuable Hebrew prints from the 16th century onwards and documents from the first Zionistic Congress, held in Basel in 1897, are added.

The latestly opened gallery is dedicated to the Jewish wedding ceremonies. A wedding dress and traditional presents for bridegroom and bride are exhibited next to documents and objects concerning divorce and its biblical roots. Wedding tunes enhance the joyful atmosphere.
